I'm curious if MKeller asked the mechanic the same question? I say this because the mechanic may have had the same overall recommendation, not much "needs" doing at all, but if they don't note potential issues, then there is somehow some liability if indeed there is a subsequent failure. And who knows, the new customer may have just won the lottery and a couple of G's wouldn't phase them to keep their prized possession up to snuff.

Can you blame them for trying?
