Previous posts have been confirmed. After 4 days and around 14 legitimate drive cycles, the AirBag light turned off. There is apparently either a minimum time or drive cycle threshold for this. Simply cycling the ignition key 25 times did no good.
Bottom line: Don't turn ignition on when one of the 29-pin connectors under the seat is unplugged.
