Press - hold Auto/Off together and ACC will begin self test, after 30 sec's or so a "0" should appear on the left. If you have no fault codes, that's all you see. If you have some, the "0" will go away and a number all the way on the left and opposite to the right will appear. The number on the left is the total number of fault codes. The number(s) on the right are the actual codes. For example mine current shows:
1 (all the way to the Left)
21(all the way to the Right)
This means I have one error and it's the air recirculte flap error. There is a link somewhere (do a search) to a specific website that shows these codes, but here is what I have in my file:
1 Control module - Internal control module malfunction
2 Cabin temperature sensor - Open circuit or short to B+
2 Cabin temperature sensor - Short-circuit to ground
3 Solar sensor - Open circuit or communication error
4 Mixed-air temperature sensor, LH - Open circuit or short to B+
4 Mixed-air temperature sensor, LH - Short-circuit to ground
5 Mixed-air temperature sensor, RH - Short-circuit to ground
5 Mixed-air temperature sensor, RH - Open circuit or short to B+
6 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, LH - Open circuit, short to B+ or short
to ground
7 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, LH - Jammed flap
8 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, LH - Loose flap
8 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, RH - Loose flap
9 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, RH - Open circuit
9 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, RH - Short-circuit to ground
10 Stepping motor, air-mixing flap, RH - Jammed flap
12 Stepping motor, air distribution flap - Open circuit
12 Stepping motor, air distribution flap - Short-circuit to ground
13 Stepping motor, air distribution flap - Jammed flap
14 Stepping motor, air distribution flap - Loose flap
18 Heat exchanger solenoid - Open circuit, short-circuit to ground
18 Heat exchanger solenoid - Short-circuit to B+
19 Circulation pump - Open circuit, short-circuit to ground
19 Circulation pump - Short-circuit to B+
20 Control voltage, fan - Short-circuit to B+
20 Control voltage, fan - Short-circuit to ground
21 Direct current motor, air recirculation flap - B+ open circuit or shorted to ground
22 This fault code means the ACC software is corrupt, this will require
reflashing by a dealer using tech2 Most ACC systems will work normally with this code.
23 Sensor ground - Ground to sensors shorting to B+
