I can't figure out the whole thing either but it is some smaller differences between 02-03 and 04.
Like, the 02 have one violet and one blue wire coming from pin 5 going to left and right head light.
Pin 2 splits into 4 white wires total at junction J201 on 02-03 but 5 wires on the 04 where one is the red wire from fuse 7.
The 04 diagram is a little bit chopped up and difficult to figure out and it seems to mention some other model or market designated as SOP.
The only grey wire found is the one going to pin 3 on relay.
Maybe when you are checking for continuity over pin 2 and 5 you are actually backfeeding through the whole system (including bulbs) due to a sensitive Ohm meter?
As I said, I have no real answers, only ramblings.
