Frank, First you should have the Twice (theft alarm system) scanned with a Tech2 to see what codes are stored so you know what is setting the service theft alarm message. There are other things that can set this message. However I beleive that model year 99 & possibly early 2000 alarm sirens had the screws and were lighly glued. I just opened a siren from a 99 9-3 and found it very easy to open. But I hear that later years are more difficult. We'll see, I have to fix my daughters 01 9-5 Areo wihich has a "siren low battery" code set in Twice. There was a very good post on here about replaceing the batteries, including a source for them (batterystore.com). If you search under "Alarm siren batteries you will find lots of info.
