though your car should be under the DIC recall. I'm pretty sure 2001 was included. 2000 was not. I had one DIC go very recently. It just melts. Goes from 100% to 0 in a heartbeat. That's the failure I've seen others report too.
It will feel like your car is going over a rumble strip on the highway if it happens this way. One side of the engine has shut down and there's combustion on only one side of a 2 sided engine (v6).
You'll have reduced power for a little while, and then no power at all if you keep pressing the gas. All of the unspent fuel from the side with the melted DIC will be heading for your cat and burning it up until it clogs - at which point you'll have zero power.
Check your car to see if it had the recall done.
