the HK amp is designed for the specific speakers and their power/freq. handling.
If you put a pair of 2way 6x9s in the rear, it will sound horrible. The factory HK amp is designed to send low (bass) frequencies to the rear subs. So a 2-way will only play the low end and not even play the higher ranges since there are no signal for the upper ranges.
The dash speakers are for voices and high frequencies, the front doors are for the midrange sound.
The rear doors are for midrange and upper range sound and the rears are for bass only.
The entire setup is well thought out and sounds great.
I'd replace with the salvage one and look under my name to find out how to increase the gain on the amp. It will make a BIG improvement.
