Hi,
I went to see Walter Wong in W.LA this morning due to transmission oil I've been leaking everywhere I went. Bad news. Repair cost? $800!!! What the fxxxx!!!!
He found the transmission hose leaking oil. He said he never saw this happen on a 9-5. Hose itself costs $75. 19mm banjo bolt people have been mentioning here wasn't the problem.
As he lowered the car and drove in reverse, he felt the harsh engine vibration I've been experiencing. He braked as he pressed the gas to test the engine mount, lo and behold, discovered that the rear engine mount broke. He showed me the engine twisting quite a bit and it means the rear engine mount needed to be replaced. Engine mount cost $250!!
The real cause of the transmission oil leak he realized, was due to the rear engine mount damage, causing engine to twist too much, and was pulling and damaging the transmission hose.
What a way to start 2007. 2006 was the year of replacing the freakin gas tank due to repeated "tighten gas cap", "check engine light", ultimately failing the CA smog test. Hopefully, no more big repairs in 2007.
Cheers,
Eugene
