You might want to read the fine print on that knockout warranty. Here are some details from GM.
The following components listed below are currently covered under the Saab Wear and Adjustment Warranty of 1 yr or 16,000 miles, whichever occurs first. This Warranty will no longer apply with the MY 2007 Saabs and beyond. This warranty discontinuation further aligns Saab within the GM Service Policies and Procedures. The following components will be considered maintenance items. However, these components are covered when replacement or repair is the result of a defect in material or workmanship.
Wiper Blades
Drive Belts
Brake pads
Clutch Discs
Door/decklid striker plate adjustments (these adjustments will now be covered under the terms of the new vehicle warranty)
Per Section 1.2.2 page 10 of the GM Service Policies & Procedures:
Maintenance
All vehicles require periodic maintenance. Maintenance services, such as those detailed in the Owner's Manual or Maintenance publications are the owner's expense unless covered under the Saab No-Charge Scheduled Maintenance Program. The following items are no longer covered the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
-Filters
-Coolants and Fluids
-Limited Slip Rear Axle Service
-Keyless Entry Batteries*
-Tire Rotation
-Audio System Cleaning
-Wheel Alignment/ Balance**
* Consumable batteries (i.e. Transponder batteries) covered up to 12 months only
** Maintenance items after 7,500 miles
-Due to the tie down during shipping, the vehicle's suspension requires some time to
reach normal operating position. For this reason, new vehicles are not to be aligned
until they have accumulated 500 miles (800 km).
-Failure or damage of components due to vehicle use, wear, exposure, or lack of
maintenance is not covered.
