That IRIS report is rather good in that there are not many items replaced under warranty. DIC/IDM is one of the 9-5 weakness. There is a lot of information on this site regarding the IDM, some of which include a few preventative maintenance items like having your mechanic regap the plugs every few oil changes. That helps cut down on the heat created by the plugs and that heat is the culprit to the IDM. Do a search using some DIC and IDM keywords, you will educate yourself nicely on this issue.

Also, since you have a V6 (so do I) make sure you find out when the timing belt AND tensioners were changed. The IRIS report shows 1/5/04 and that's over 3 years and 45k with normal driving. So you are likely due for one soon as that should be done on or before 60k interval. Now, if you really want to be freaked out, if that timing belt breaks, it will strand you AND bend the values AND cost you a lot of money. But that's true with any interfearance engine, like my Audi A6.

It's a great car so do try to enjoy it. I have had 3 9-5's now.
