Differences depend on year some what. The Linear, Arc and Aero trim designations I think were introduced ~ 2002. The Aero designation goes back much farther and continues to this day (actually in 2006 they called the Aero the Sport but same creature). The Linear was dropped from US market a few years back.
As of 2006 there is on the 9-5 (base no trim designation) and 9-5 Sport (renamed back to Aero for 2007). Cars are very close except Sport/Aero have lowered suspension and sport seats. Interior trim is slightly different also. Otherwise all the US 2006 and 2007 Saab 9-5s are pretty much the same.
For the ealier cars the Linear is the base model. It had less power, fewer features, different tires/wheel sizes and the like than the Arc or Aero. The Arc was more of the luxury 9-5 and strived to maintain good ride and luxury touches like wood trim. The Aero was more of the sport model the primary attractions (or repulsions depending on preferences) being the lowered sport suspension and sport seats. The exact differences depend on model year.
The SportCombi is just the new name for the wagon as of 2006. Available as either the Base or the Sport/Aero (2006/2007).
