Help with Front Wheel Bearings Posted by Paul [Email] (#792) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Paul) on Mon, 16 Apr 2007 06:41:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Fellow Saaber!
I have an '01 Aero with a growling right front wheel bearing. After reading the various posts on this board thought that the job would be relatively simple. Well, pulled the wheel off this morning to find that the traditional axle nut - the one that needs the 800 # gorrilla to break - isn't visible. There is some sort of thin metal cap over the center of the hub. I didn't see any seam between the cup and the hub and don't want to damage anything just yet.
What is this cap - how does it come off, and more importantly, what else is different? Your insight has been of great value through the years, lets see what we can do with this?
