you might have not noticed that they were not wearing well in the rear. When they got moved closer the noise would be closer and in the steering wheel. Also the toe is different in the back. so if they outside edge was not wearing right then when moved to the front now it is in contact with the road.
I lived with the noise for almost a year. Put on some yoko 520s from discount tire. They are ok. Not near the cornering and wet traction that I was expecting, but are quite and seem to be wearing well, but have not rotated yet. I would have gone with the cheaper kumho tire but a few buck more the yoko has a 60k warrenty and at 115 per tire I did not want to be buy new tires in 20-30K(I do not know the tread life of the kumho). Plus hopefully with the warrenty if the saab 9-5 tread wear issue happens I can get new tires early. Oh also got the car alined right after I got the tires put on.
