Since you are familiar with removing the air intake tube and cleaning the throttle body, all you need to do is to look at the throttle blade when moving the throttle wire or arm.
If the throttle blade move, it is in limp home mode.
But I'm pretty sure it is not because it would have triggered a fault code in that case stating that.
Wrong or worn plugs or a failing ignition cassette (IDM) can trigger knock sensor code.
