an my dic went south about 3 years ago,at 46,000 miles and i was on a trip and had to get a new one flown in .from internet supplier . a 2000 9.5 aero.

when the recall came in i took it,the car , to the dealer with the old dic in the rear seat ,hoping to get a replacement for it under the nthsa ? ruling .

well ,becasue the failed dic was not installed in the engine i was told tough luck you will not get a replacement .nor any monies .

i then wrote to saab,dealer, and to the nhtsa ? and they came back telling me that according to the record saab did replace my dic.

just went back to them and told them not so............

next step ,i may go for a lawyer .........for $400 ???

maybe ,it is a question of saab failing to live up to the nhsta ruling .

the recall notice asks that if i replaced the dic i should mail the bill in for a cash reimbursement .but i lost all the records ,i thought that by matching the oe dic to the car they,saab could tell that it was in fact the oe one that failed .
