Boost drop between shifts (auto)

Lately, I've noticed the 'boost' gauge dropping into mid-yellow on the shift from 1st to 2nd, and it takes a good two seconds before it fully recovers to the yellow/red border (or slightly into red). Acceleration is noticeably lacking during the same time period. Prior to this, the car was very strong once into 2nd gear, with no lack of boost. My foot is to the floor the entire time, never letting up, car is an '00 Aero w/ auto trans, dealer maintained, 88K miles. Thoughts? Thanks!
