Re: premium fuel - look at it this way, relatively speaking, premium gas is the cheapest it has ever been. When I was in high school and first got my license in the mid 80's, regular gas was $.80/gal and premium was $.99/gal. Now I am older and (theoretically) wiser and regular gas here is $3.05/gal and premium is $3.25! Pretty much the same increase in $, but a whole lot smaller percentage change. Put another way, "back in the day" a tank of regular cost ~$10, and a tank of premium cost ~$2 more. Nowadays, a tank of regular costs ~$40 and a tank of premium still only costs ~$2 more! And generally Saabs get at least a mile or two better per gallon on the good stuff - the last thing you want is Trionic pulling back the ignition timing and boost because it is hearing pinging. And it will hear it even if you don't.
