avg lifespan depends if you have "regular" or platinum plugs. the platinum last much longer. 6x more expensive If I recall, and they don't last 6x longer ... so I go with the regular.
I change them every 10-15k and would not let them go past 20k.
the "look" of a plug is more an indication of the health of the engine than the health of the plug itself. But do check the gap, that is important.
yes Saabs are picky about their plugs. use ONLY NGK, and replace them frequently. the T7 ignition system uses the plugs as combustion sensors to determine knock and timing. its very sophisticated.
funny, even my old C900 used up plugs in a hurry, and that ignition system was pretty far from the T7 in our 9-5s. Yea its a Saab thing I guess. my Pontiac, on the other hand, has had the same plugs for over 120k and they still look/work fine.
