Right Front Suspension Pop - Reverse

Hi,
2001 9-5 Aero. I think this started when I bought the car 3 years ago, but it's getting worse. When I back up and turn the wheel I'll get two loud pops from the right front wheel. Then when I put it in 1st and drive forward I get 2 (or so) pops as soon as the wheel moves in a forward direction.
Is this as easy as tightening a bolt or is this the sign of a wear item?
When going down the road I have no problems at all, no noises, etc. Only when I back up and turn the wheel.
Thanks,
Liam
