I know this one is totally bizarre, but I just went through the same with my 2003 aero. It would be interesting to see what code is thrown when it happens, or after. Do you keep a CEL after the episode that they can grab with TechII? My code was for a "fuel pump relay switch" and something about the o2 sensor. They replaced the fuel pump relay switch; still happened..they replaced the CPS; still happened. The car literally had my hand shaking every time I reached for the door handle, since I didn't know where I would end up! (left me stranded 5 times in a month). They finally kept it in the shop a few days and the problem ended up being a loose pin on the ECU connection (according to the shop)...pin #9 to be exact, that happened to control the fuel pump relay switch. They corrected and it hasn't happened since (thanks to the guys that found this bugger). Anyway, good luck; I can relate and know how painful that one is.
