It takes about an hour to do, and I am no mechanic. Just make sure you label all the hoses and do buy a new gasket. My dealer wanted $476 for the part and two hours labor ($706 total.) I bought a remanufactured unit for $200. You can do it yourself and if your software is up to date, then no programming is required, just plug and play.
