Glad to be in the 9-5 camp. After all the crap I read from die-hard Saabers about how the 9-5 wasn't a real Saab and didn't have the Saab feel, I was reluctant. But boy is that a load of crap! This is some car.
One thing I still take issue with is the claim that the new auto trans gives a superior launch over the 5-speed. Sorry, but I think that's a load of crap too - you just can't beat slipping the clutch and lighting the tires for getting off the line. The auto box is impressive once you get rolling, but that first second or two is agonizingly vulnerable. Yes, I'm in Sport mode. I do miss the command that the 5-speed gives, mostly when cornering (which I don't do a lot of any more, admittedly).
Traction management system is impressive in marginal conditions but yesterday evening after a rain storm I purposely overdrove the car into a corner to see what it would do (90 degree S-curve, sub-40 mph, clear lines of sight, no traffic, some room in case I lost it) - well, it was pretty ugly. Had there been any oncoming traffic or stationary objects, it would have been catastrophic. Traction management can only do so much. I still feel that a good RWD car is better if situations like that, but the obvious choice is to stay out of situations that are beyond the limits of any sane vehicle.
