Driving home from NJ in my 03 Areo on I 95 going around 80 or so. Beautiful afternoon, shakedown trip on my new Potenzas; great solid smooth ride until ......

I noticed something flying against the front left hand side of the car. Followed by a knocking sound. Did I run over a box or some other debris??? No; the knocking and flying plastic piece was none other than the entire drivers side INDICATOR AND PARKING LIGHT UNIT!!!!! The thing was hanging by a cord and buffeting against my car like a kite.

I finally managed to work my way to the far right lane and onto an exit. The car was scrached to hell. How deep the scratches are remain to be seen. I put the unit back in place and drove home without incident.

I called the dealer who usually performs our maintenence and they were a little less then enthused about replacing any part that broke causing the lights to go flying off of my car even though the car is under CPO. Am I out of line by asking for full coverage as well as any repairs to damage to the body that occured as a result of the part breaking??

I love(d) this car. I have put 9k on it since January and she has 39k well cared for miles. The car did not have a ding on it and had never been in an accident.

For a fixture to fall off like it would on a Yugo or a Zil has left a real sour taste in my mouth. This and the dealers attitude has really put a damper on my Saab love.

I am taking it to the main dealership in Falls Church VA tomorrow morning your advice and thoughts would be appreciated.
