One hard and fast high line car selling rule is don't scrimp. You trying to sell a $8,000 - 10,000 high line luxury item, tough to mix that marketing with a do it yourselfer who will tolerate a headgasket. $1,500 isn't that much in the scheme of things and a headgasket is perceived as a major-major thing by a buyer. Not scrimping might also mean good tires and a fresh professional detail. Your competing with consumer dollars for lower mileage newer normal cars so problems going in are a big turnoff and brings out the "bottom feeders", folks looking for a steal of a price on damaged goods.
