...the statement that R1 concepts uses factory rotors or that Akebono pads last longer and exert less wear on the rotors?
A while back I was shopping for drilled/slotted for my Aero and they were the ONLY place that carried drilled rotors for the 2003 Aero. I called and they said that the reason they had them was because they just used factory rotors and custom slotted/drilled them in house. Makes sense I guess, as my rear rotors are factory ones that were slotted by Nick at genuinesaab. I see that R1 has reduced the rotor set(4) from $400 to $249, which is hands down the cheapest I have seen anywhere BY FAR. If I didn't already have good rotors I would jump on it..
The part about Akebonos lasting longer was something I read first in an article in a car magazine a few years ago. I can personally vouch for this fact, however, as I have had them installed for more than a year with hardly any noticeable rotor or pad wear at all. I am flat-out amazed at their product honestly. No dust, excellent wear, excellent stopping power. I'm such a skeptic, but this is one product that does was they claim superbly. Cheers.
