If you have the wiper arms and cowling off then the only other items are: 1) the wiper motor and drive arms; 2) the wiper drive arm mount immediately above the fan motor (three screws- the bottom one only needs to be loosened); and 3) the snap on plastic frame surrounding the fan motor nacelle.

A new fan motor is nearly $300, but an enterprising D-I-Y-er posted just last week that they found the correct new fan motor brushes at McMaster-Carr for under $10! A little rework of the soft carbon blocks to get them to fit right, and you have saved yourself $290.

The commutator on your old fan motor will still be significantly worn, but atleast you have postponed (and maybe eliminated) the expensive motor replacement.
