In regards to the 1/8" vac line attachment: can you feel vacuum when the engine is running?
a vacuum leak (downstream of the MAF) will lean out the mixture. This in turn will cause pinging. which will in turn cause the ECU to reduce boost to try and get the pinging under control. reduced boost will reduce your performance in all areas.
I would also expect a crappy idle with a vacuum leak.
