I am having an intermittent problem (almost every second day now) when trying to start my 2000 9-5 Aero manual. Sometimes, when I turn the key the starter does not engage. Everything else happens ie. the dash lights up, I can hear relays operating, the fuel pump whirs, etc. but the starter does nothing. And yes I have the clutch peddle to the floor! If I keep turning the key back to off then to start it will eventually start, sometimes on the second try sometimes on the sixth or seventh try.

The first time this happened was the day after I had the car at the dealer to replace the oil pressure sensor. This is located just above the starter which the dealer told me was removed to allow them to install the new sensor. I have had the car back to the dealer for them to check it over but it always works for them.

Any way does anybody have ideas what the problem might be? The dealer has suggested that if may be a sign that I need a new, very expensive starter.
