I had the 60K service on my CPO'ed 2002 Arc. They replaced the cam-belt, tensioner, idler and water pump no charge. The idler for the serpentine belt and belt (accessory) I had to pay for ($134). I had done the fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter, engine oil, transmission oil myself. My spark plugs were stuck tight so I decided to have the Dealer swap them in case the threads striped in the heads? They also replaced the rear shocks under the CPO warranty. What a difference in the ride. They billed right at $800 to SAAB and $275 was my part. The plugs I should have done because I was charged 44.40 for the NGK plugs that cost $1.69 at NAPA and $63.00 to install them. I think $107.00 to replace the spark plugs was nuts. They adjusted the E-brake for $27. I've got a really noisy lifter in the rear bank. They kept the car overnight to hear it and did but didn't address it. It rattles for about 3-5 minutes in the morning. From what I can tell, the lifter issue cannot be addressed without removing the camshafts so I wanted the cam-belt swapped after the lifter issue was corrected. Hopefully I am wrong about the cams having to be removed but I don't think so? There is no evidence the Dealer ever worked on my car which to me indicates a careful mechanic. The Mechanic was an Asian Gentlemen and has worked on SAAB's for 25 years. He really seemed to know his stuff and was very polite. Any comments on the fees I was charged or the lifter issue? I am currently using 5w-40 Euro-spec Mobile 1 in the V6. Although there is only 1800 miles on the oil, I'm thinking of changing it to 10w-30 and see if the lifter(s) quits making noise. I have a full GM shop manual set for a 1999 Catera I need to look at since it's the same basic engine. I noticed lifters for the Vauxhall Engine show as $70 each? How can that be?
