I have done lots of them but I would have a difficult time to give any hints so that you would be able to go all the way fool proof.
The difference between the GM V6 engine as this is and many other using a timing belt is that the engine is using two eccentric idler pulleys and one tensioner pulley.
What this means is that you can alter the timing of the cam shafts by moving the idler pulleys in different direction.
Lower idler pulley moves all cam shafts contra crank shaft and upper idler pulley moves 1-2 shaft contra 3-4.
And yes, you have to replace all three pulleys when replacing timing belt and subsequently disturb the setting of the pulleys.
The photo here helps somewhat since if you after having routed the belt over all sprockets, if you pretension the two idler pulleys to the approx position of arrows, after you also have set the pretension of tensioner pulley, you are fairly close with the cam timing.
