Lost overboost function?

Hello, I have an 02 Aero 5sp, with 92k.
Recently I've been noticing the turbo gauge won't enter the red area anymore at WOT. I always understood this as the 20sec overboost function. On brief occasion, it will overboost for a split second, but when it does, the timing retards immediately and the gauge falls back into the yellow. No hesitation or misfire symptoms that I can tell.
Recently did the following maintenance items.
BPR6ES plugs. The boost curve does feel more linear compared to the platinum one's, but the problem still exists.
New Air filter and fuel filter.
DIC replaced under recall about 30k ago.
I've also noticed slight pinging at WOT regardless now that I pay attention to it.
Was planning on cleaning the TB next. But was wondering if there's anything else that could be the culprit?
Car has only run 93 octane since purchased with 22k miles and it's had a bottle of techron every 10k on average.
Car is still covered under CPO warranty, but I'm hesitent to mention it as this will require 'joy rides' by dealer techs to diagnose.
Any feedback would be appreciated..
Thanks,
-Aeroguy
