Interested in knowing if your issue was resolved. I have a 2001 that has developed the same issue- no more than 30-36 hours before the drain is enough to kill the battery. Have never installed a new battery (Interstate, 2yrs. old; indy says it is fine). I gave my indy a $300 cap to isolate the drain- first it was the microswitch on the trunk (adjusted), then the driver's seat module (now unplugged) and the corroded grounding strap. 3 weeks later left town for a 2 day trip and returned to a dead car again.

I have had the alarm trip for just a second a couple of times over the summer and drew an error message about 2 months ago on the display. Nothing more sisnce then. Just went to NYC for 4 days and disconnected the battery before I left. Will reconnect tonight and see if it starts.

Share any news if you can. I promised myself if the car developed any electrical problems (which they are known to have) I would unload it. My frustration lies in the fact that this issue is NOT uncommon in these cars and is exactly the type of problem that keeps people from looking at a Saab in the first place. I had this general information about Saabs beforehand, too, but thought I found a good one.
Shame on me.
