Thanks to DIY posts from contributors here, I just today replaced my alarm batteries after random bouts of "service theft alarm" message on SID and completely unstoppable alarm incidents that had become far more frequent (Including outside restaurant on Sunday and outside bank this morning).
The SID message did not appear again after the replacement BTW.
The main car battey is two+ years old.
Interesting that the thirty-second bursts Marcin mentioned here are different to what I had. Mine continued for some minutes when it would go quiet of its own mysterious accord.
Marcin said it was unstoppable however when it was due to the CAR battery being at fault. (That is what I have had.)
So ....has anyone else noticed that same links?
Is it that
when ALARM batteries are low - random thirty second burst only;
OR
When CAR battery low - longer unstoppable sessions of alarm going on and off repeatedly.
Did I miss this from previous posters contributions?
If this is the case , then it may help clarify this confusing and unpleasant situation for future 'young players'.
If so, for me, it seems I should therefore expect that it will continue until the CAR battery is replaced?
Thoughts??
