Coincidentally, I happen to have the front door off right now as I am replacing a broken window roller. Unfortunately, you will have to take off the entire door panel to get the handle off. There a two round metal locking rings on the back that give the handle more support. You will have to pry them off. If you've never taken the door panel off its easy. Its held on by clips that need to pry out. If you need more detailed instructions look here:
