My 9-5 SC has been great.. till lately. About 6 weeks ago It had its 20k service (at about 19,000 miles). The funk started about a month after. 3 weeks ago I drove 300 miles from SF to LA..
Got down towards 'E' with 30 miles left on the tank. The car began accelerating from a stop with a choked, unpredictable slowness. Sport button didn't help.. and maybe exacerbated it. I thought it was from draining the tank so low. I refueled, (Mobil high octane) but it continued. Took to dealer, they agreed it was driving doggedly, changed the plugs and something else (starter coil?), but it didn't cure it. We agreed, m-a-y-b-e it was bad gas(!).
I used that tank and it was getting better. Refueled again and everything was fine the next day. Drove back to SF, all fine.
Fast forward 3 weeks. Today the tank was tank low, so I filled up at Shell (high octaine again, and as always) and with the FULL tank, it started again. The pick-up is very asthmatic, unpredictable. it's as if the turbo turned off, but it also feels as if the gas is going through, but through tiny, tiny tubes to juice the engine. What's up?
