I've been using Mann filters from my '89 SPG and my '02 Aero Wagon for the last few years. They are supposed to be equivalent to OEM. My dealer was fine with installing the Mann for me, but suggested I get the OEM one for the 9-5. He said that he has run across a few Mann filters that had some tapping noises. I figure $2 more was OK just in case.
I have had my dealer do oil changes to document the change and to do a once over on the car to find issues. It's CPO so they'll fix anything that they find. Trying to get as much fixed/changed prior to my CPO expiration in May. Besides they charge me $15 for the labor and I bring my own filter and M1 - pretty good deal and I can walk in with the service manager to take a look myself.
