The V6 is not a car and the V6 was also an LPT. Previously the LPT (light pressure turbo) in the 9-5 could be a 2.3l I4 or a V6. As was previously stated in 1999 the 9-5SE was available with the 2.3l LPT and the V6 (LPT). This happened because the V6 engines were having a vibration problem and folks wanted the SE level cars so Saab saw fit to sell the SE with the 2.3l until the V6 problem was resolved.
I don't know of a single reference that helps with the identification of newer Saabs. A VIN decoder can help some.
