You do not need to touch the timing belt to R&R the water pump on the V6. You do need to remove the serpentine belt, motor mount, and timing belt cover. The waterpump is not driven by the timing belt, it just sits in the middle of it. I did mine myself - in my case, the pump itself was perfectly fine, but the O-ring that seals it had deteriorated and was leaking. At 81K, that could well be your problem as well. But if you are going to put 2-3 hours into the R&R, you might as well replace it.
