Well, there is no such thing as a 9-5 V6 with a manual transmission, so that matters not. Even at idle, a broken belt will at a minimum bend a bunch of valves. Though it is unlikely to be 'just' a broken belt - the belt usually breaks because one of the pulley bearings go bad. And by all accounts that can happen very, very quickly. If you are lucky (and observant), the bad pulley will make some noise before it siezes and trashes the belt.
If I absolutley had proof that the tensioner was replaced when the belt was replaced, then I would be comfortable going to 120K on the belt. If the tenshioner is original, then he is on borrowed time at this point. Better $5-800 to do the belt than $3-5000 to fix the engine.
I will also add that when I did mine at ~62K, one of the pulleys was noticably rough and stiff.
