Experimental call to local Dealer to ask for a good-will gesture, without expecting anything special, but thought I would give it a try.

Tell me what you think. (It may help some of you to be aware of this anyway.)

Long-lasting, really bothersome creak/click in body structure at B-pillar passenger side when traversing ANY uneven ground. Drives me crazy. It's a 9-5 lpt 2000 wagon but the very SAME thing occurred in my '96 900s before its demise and it drove me crazy there too.

Then I see in the W.I.S., much to my delight, that it is a KNOWN problem due to "...sub-standard spot welds which cause the sheet metal to press against each other. As of VIN Y3055931 the position of the welds has been changed tpo rectify the problem...", and that what it takes is to uncover internal pillar trim and pry two pieces of metal apart with a screwdriver to prevent rubbing contact, according to WIS.

Thinking that they might just say something like, "Yeah, what the heck! Bring it in and we'll see what we can do for you", (stupid I know) but the guy says that unless it is a recall or such... no way.
You know I just thought that they might do it as a good will gesture. Yes, I am completely stupid I know....
What was I thinking?.... Yeah I know, I know. I hear ya.

What made me more irritated was that prior to the call I had gone there first on my way by, only to have to wait for ages while they were on the phone, to eventually get no attention whatsoever, only to end up driving off and deciding to call on the phone rather than waste my time.
I wonder what poor sucker was standing around there waiting while they talked to me on the phone.

...now where is that big screwdriver?....
