...Having used both auto and a manual equipped cars to tow our Whaler, I would definitely go with the auto. On steep ramps, the need to use one foot to hold the brake, a second to slip the clutch and a third (which most persons lack) to feed the gas (while using the non-steering hand to synchronize the use of the parking brake with the rest of the operation) led me to develop a system where I placed an aircraft chock (attached to a chain which was then hooked to the trailer) behind a rear wheel of our tow vehicle. Go with the auto!
