Tony, you will find the new 9-5s nice cars but not with the Recarro seats like your current Aero. The seats in the early Aero 9-5s were not as firm or tailored with side bolsters as the later Aeros. The reliability is better than the 9Ks and especially after 03. I have an 01 and 05 Aero. I gave my daughter my 04 Aero and ordered an 06 but after seing the 06s I fell back and had the dealer find an 05 Aero. The 04 was trouble free as long as I had it. I gave it to her at about 47K miles it now has almost 80K miles still essentially trouble free. Had throttle body fail but GM-SAAB extended warranty took care of that. My 05 only has 10K miles on it and it is outstanding but had to have the throttle body replaced at 4600 miles; didn't fail, just "sticky" response to pedal. You can't go wrong if you can find an 03 or later Aero. Some 06s are starting to come off lease you could find a nice one of those (From a reliability point of view) but doubt you can find one with sport package and interior. All of my 9-5s after 99 have been Aero Sportcombis. I had a 99 SE sedan and it was no comparisson to the combis for visibility and utility also the 170 seemed puny on power. I traded down from a 97-260 Aero. The 97 was "tweeked" by SPG before I brought it to the states.
