An opinion of one.......... Posted by Herb Hirsch [Email] (#114) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Herb Hirsch) on Thu, 27 Dec 2007 06:04:48 In Reply to: Exhaust & Suspension work..., Odyssey3, Wed, 26 Dec 2007 23:05:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My criteria for having work done would include the following.
1. REPUTATION....you've got to take your time to find out what kind of reputation the body shop and the indie have. You could poll your dealer, other Saab owners, gas stations and towing services. If you ask enough people a pattern will emerge.
2. EXPERIENCE....if you do some informal polling the depth of this will emerge. Also, have a chat with the guys you're thinking of doing business with. Clue: if the body shop nver seems to have anything but Detroit iron and monster trucks their strengths may not match your needs, despite their protestations to the contrary.
3. TRAINING....if the indie worked in Saab dealerships for 10-20 years this is likely a plus. If his background is mainly GMC trucks I'd hesitate.
4. PRICE....this is the last thing I'd consider. If the guy you're leaning towards has come up short versus the above points a good price will not save the day.
Good luck
