There is no immiment notice or warning of a pending belt failure. You loose the alternator, Power steering, Water pump, AC compressor motive force. The warning of alternator will be a red light and a CEL you should get A CEL if the temp goes out of limits unless the belt wipes out the electrical leads. It is also possible that the tensioner could have failed, allowing derail of the belt. If you are not a DIY guy You are in for a few bucks repair. Five miles at highway speed is enough to boil away the coolant. Saab is tight and with little cooling reserve when the pump stops. You can drive it a few miles with out the pump from stone cold but you are taking a chance without cooling temp measurement. you will have to man handle the corners so be careful. My recomendation is to have it towed. Good luck, let us hear what you find
