ACC Fault Codes and Air Conditioning Compressor Posted by Greg Bender [Email] (#1027) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Greg Bender) on Tue, 15 Jan 2008 19:52:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all,
9-5 SE 6 cylinder; 98,000 miles
Last weekend it was warm enough to need the Air Conditioning, but it didn't work. I performed the AUTO+OFF self test and got fault code 08. Fortunately it was just the stop arm. I replaced the broken stop arm with the updated version. I performed the AUTO+OFF self test again (twice) and no fault codes were reported. Okay, that problem is solved.
The ambient temperature was in the mid 60 degrees F. I started the engine and turned both temperature controls all the way down to Lo. Cold air did not come from the vents. A quick look under the hood confirmed the Air Conditioning Compressor was not running (pulley was free-wheeling without being engaged). I checked all the fuses in the fuse panel, and all were good.
What's my next step? Have a shop check for low refrigerant levels?
Regards,
Greg Bender
