That is a bit more than I would expect. I have over 110,000 miles and still uses no oil between changes at 10K miles. I would be looking for a defective check valve or a turbo leak. Stuff can happen when you least expect it. I would recommend that you change oil/filter, install 10W30 Mobil or Castrol full synthetic and after checking all check valves in the PCV system start watching your oil consumption. (Drive it like you stole it!) One quart in 1500 miles is not going to throw a lot of smoke and since you have no leaks the oil is going through the engine somehow. A turbo shaft seal is not all that common but it does happen and it will allow a lot of oil to be passed down the induction system but it will usually have a little smoke. Look inside the Throttle body and see if there are a lot of dark stains or oil in the inlet chamber. If found you could have a check valve problem or a turbo seal. Remove the plugs and look at the insulation is it black and oily or a nice sand color and dry. If your plugs are clean then the rings and pistons are not your problem.
