I believe in service manuals anything over 800 miles/quart is considered excessive. You are using about 1/2 that. You are using a fair amount of oil, but it may not officially be "excessive".
That said, the PCV fix improves the crankcase ventilation and reduces the pressure. All things the same it will tend to pull more oil vapor out of the crankcase. This would increase consumption.
I would look at the plugs and do a compression check. If they look OK then I would get in the habit of checking the oil at fill ups and and not worry.
