First, I need your help.
Please provide the specifications for the block heater; Volts and current requirements?
Block heaters generally require a lot of current so operatng it off of 115VAC house current is virtually a must. Current requirements are such that at 12VDC 25A-50A would be needed, which would definitely run the battery down quickly.
All of the block heaters I've seen advertised require 1,000-5,000 watts at 115VAC, or 9A-45A. Size is generally determined by engine displacement...2.3 liters in your case. Even 10A at 115VAC translates to 1,150 watts.
