I bought a cup holder off Ebay for $34 w/shipping. It came from a SAAB with 20K miles on it. Perfect shape. Although my SAAB is under CPO warranty, I didn't want to risk any further damage to my car from careless mechanics - crazy I know but I have bad luck. I bought the radio DIN tools from Walmart ($3.96). I removed the radio by inserting the DIN tools and rocked the radio up/down slightly as it slid out. I then taped around the fascia with blue painter's tape to protect the edge of the wood dash and covered the console with a towel. I slide the ACC unit right out by pushing from the rear, released the molex connector. It came out easily. I then tried to slide the SID out but it wouldn't budge. I pushed so hard from the back, I'm lucky I didn't break anything! I finally discovered there are two plastic releases on each side of my SID (SID dated 8/2005). Also had to disconnect the harness. I then pushed in the sides of the square radio cage and slid it out enough to push the release tabs on the connector and the tabs that hold the antenna cable. I took a torks bit T-20 and inserted it in the 1/4" magnetic holder from my hand-drill bit kit. Working through the dash cutout, I used a 1/4" ignition wrench to turn the fixture backing out each screw and removed the broken cup holder. I then installed the replacement cup holder and found there was a little bit of adjustment as the holes in the cup holder mounts are slightly larger than the diameter of the screws. I adjusted it so the gap around it looked equal in the dash cutout. Then I installed the radio cage hooking up the harnesses prior to fully seating it. Note there is a protruding tab on the back of the cage that fits in a slot behind the dash. I installed the SID after connecting the harness and the same with the ACC unit. Tried the cup holder and it works. Hopefully it doesn't rattle like the old one did prior to me breaking it. Had to set the time of the SID and that's about it. Of course I lost my MPG, Distance traveled, etc (reset). Peeled off my protective tape and I think I'm good-to-go. It took just oven an hour to complete.
