GT17 to TD04 swap?

Out of interest, is it possible to replace a dead GT17 turbo with a TD04? Has anyone done it? Any gotchas?
The reason I ask (of course) is because the GT17 is a known weak point whereas the TD04 seems to be very reliable. We don't actually own a 9-5 yet, but we are looking at used ones, and I'd weigh an Aero much higher if the swap isn't doable... for other reasons, we don't *need* an Aero... a Linear would suffice if this reliability point could be solved (ie when the time comes)...
cheers!
James...
